Gillian Arnold
Gillian Arnold is a Northern Irish born textile and print artist, now living in County Durham, England. Although she began and continues her own artistry with paintings made using her secret monotype technique, which she has developed over the past 20 years, to print pressed flowers onto her textile canvasses,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://connect.makerhood.com/2011/07/25/meet-the-makers-gillian-arnold-2/ )〕 she has expanded her design range to use this same technique to produce lampshades, jewellery, ceramics and glass ware.
She moved from her home town of Carrickfergus, to Liverpool to study at John Moores University,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.gillianarnold.com )〕 where she studied for a degree in textiles. After which she moved to London in 1996 to Masters Degree, again, in textiles at Chelsea College of Art. She then stayed in London until 2012, working as a resident artist in a number of south-London schools,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.southwarkcollections.org.uk/code/eMuseum.asp?page=exhibitions )〕 and as a freelance artist working on community projects.
